Newborn Stem Cell Banking Services
Newborn stem cell banking is one of the most important long-term health plans for your child. Stem cells from cord blood and tissue are high-potential medical resources capable of treating hematological diseases, immune deficiencies, and certain genetic disorders. Furthermore, there is ongoing research into their use in regenerative medicine.
At MEDEZE Group, we provide newborn stem cell storage services under international laboratory standards. Our quality control processes are strictly monitored at every stage, from collection in the delivery room and temperature-controlled transport to isolation and storage in ultra-low temperature cryogenic systems (-196°C) to ensure the long-term efficacy of the cells
Give your child a medical advantage from day one.

Placenta and Cord Tissue Stem Cell Banking Service
Within the placenta and umbilical cord lies a gel-like substance known as Wharton’s Jelly, which is rich in Mesenchymal Stem Cells (MSCs). These cells are easily collected after birth, without causing any pain or harm. MSCs have the special ability to develop into tissue, blood vessel, cartilage and organ cells, and stand out in Regenerative Medicine for treating degenerative conditions such as:
Neurological & Memory Disorders: Alzheimer’s disease, memory loss, Parkinson’s Disease and paralysis
Degenerative conditions of internal organs: liver cirrhosis, coronary artery disease and tissue damage
Cartilage Regeneration: supported by clinical research on restoring joint cartilage in patients with Knee Osteoarthritis, helping reduce pain and improve mobility
Anti-Aging & Wellness: helps restore cell vitality from within

Cord Blood Stem Cell Banking Service
Cord blood is rich in Hematopoietic Stem Cells (HSCs), which play a key role in producing red blood cells, white blood cells and platelets. The extraction process at MEDEZE is safe and poses no risk or pain to either the newborn or the mother, as it is performed only after the umbilical cord has been clamped and cut. These cells have the medical potential to treat and restore more than 80 blood and immune system disorders, for example:
Thalassemia: including Beta Thalassemia and hemoglobin disorders
Leukemia: acute and chronic (ALL, AML, CLL, CML) and Lymphoma
Blood cell production disorders and bone marrow failure: Severe Aplastic Anemia and Fanconi Anemia
Myelodysplastic Syndrome: including bone marrow cancer
Congenital immune deficiencies: such as Severe Combined Immunodeficiency (SCID), and autoimmune disease (SLE)

Medical Proof and World-Class Stem Cell Standards
Cord blood stem cell banking has been continuously recognized and medically proven at the international level since the early 1990s
It has been confirmed that stem cells frozen under proper standards can be used to restore the blood and immune systems of patients, in public and private stem cell banks around the world
More than 400 stem cell banks worldwide: reflecting global acceptance of storage standards
More than 800,000 units: in public cord blood banks worldwide
More than 6,000,000 – 8,000,000 units: in private stem cell banks worldwide
Clinical Research and Real Treatment Cases (Clinical Evidence)
The potential to restore the blood and immune systems with Hematopoietic Stem Cells (HSCs) is supported by scientific evidence and real treatment reports at the international level:
1988 (the world’s first successful treatment of Fanconi Anemia): Dr. Eliane Gluckman successfully used cord blood stem cells to treat a child with Fanconi Anemia, marking the beginning of stem cell banking worldwide.
2007 (treating ALL leukemia with personal stem cells): a report on the treatment of a 3-year-old girl with relapsed leukemia (ALL) using her own cord blood stem cells, stored since birth (Autologous Cord Blood Transplant). After treatment, the patient made a full recovery and remained disease-free for more than 20 months.
2013 (treating Severe Aplastic Anemia, SAA): successful treatment of a child with Severe Aplastic Anemia using personal cord blood stem cells, offering a safe first-line treatment option that helps reduce the risk of complications.

How to get started with stem cell banking at MEDEZE Group
5 Steps to Store
Umbilical Cord Blood Stem Cells (HPC)
Register & Receive Your Collection Kit
Contact MEDEZE to sign your agreement and receive your collection kit in advance, so you are ready on delivery day.
Collection & Transport (Delivery Day)
Your doctor collects the umbilical cord blood and a maternal blood sample, which are transported safely to the laboratory in a temperature-controlled box (4–25°C).
Safety Screening
The mother's blood is screened for infectious diseases (such as HIV, hepatitis and syphilis) to keep the whole process as safe as possible.
Cell Processing & Quality Testing
Stem cells are isolated with the automated AXP AutoXpress™ technology, then tested for cell count, viability and sterility.
Cryopreservation & 60 Years of Storage
Cells are cryopreserved at -196°C and stored for 60 years at no additional cost, backed by the international AABB standard.

How many family members can use a newborn's stem cells?
In general, Newborn Stem Cell Banking can benefit more than one family member, though the primary factor is 'Genetic Compatibility' or HLA Matching
The child (the cell owner): 100% compatible, can be used immediately without tissue rejection
Siblings with the same parents: a high chance of compatibility, 25–50%
Father, mother and close relatives: may benefit medically depending on their level of genetic compatibility

Frequently Asked Questions
Is it necessary to store stem cells at birth?
Collecting stem cells from the umbilical cord is a “once-in-a-lifetime opportunity” that exists only at the time of birth. Newborn cells are pure and have never been affected by aging or chemicals. Once the day of delivery has passed, cells of this quality can never be collected from the umbilical cord again
Is the stem cell collection process safe for both mother and baby?
It is safe for both mother and baby. The doctor collects the cord blood and cord tissue only after the baby has been born and the umbilical cord has been clamped and cut, so it causes no pain and does not increase any risk during delivery
Is it different from storing stem cells from adipose (fat) tissue?
Stem cells from cord blood excel as Hematopoietic Stem Cells (HSCs), used to treat blood and immune system diseases, while stem cells from cord tissue and adipose tissue excel as Mesenchymal Stem Cells (MSCs), with potential in regenerative medicine, organ degeneration, joint degeneration and anti-aging. Storing both sources together therefore broadens future medical options
How should I choose a stem cell bank?
Consider 4 main factors:
1. The organization’s credibility and financial standing, such as being a public company listed on the SET
2. International accreditations, such as AABB and ISO 9001:2015
3. GMDP certification from the Thai FDA
4. Long-term protection, such as medical treatment insurance coverage and a 60-year storage contract
How much does stem cell banking cost?
There is no single fixed price for stem cell storage, as the cost depends on several factors. These include the source of the cells—whether from newborn cord blood or adult adipose tissue—the technology used for isolation and cultivation, laboratory standards, and the chosen storage duration, ranging from a set number of years to long-term preservation
