When speaking of working women in Thailand, it is almost impossible not to think of Khun Napatsawan Chillanond. She once shared her thoughts that. NAPATSAWAN CHILLANOND "My pride does not come merely from being a prominent woman in society or appearing frequently in newspapers and magazines. I own my own company, produce a travel television program that takes me around the world, work as a marketing consultant, and provides public relations and strategic planning for politicians. I would honestly feel offended if someone asked why I still work just because I have money. Personally, I believe that if women stop working as they grow older, they lose their value. I intend to work for as long as I live. I can work anywhere—I don't need to sit in an office. With good connections, work can always be done. Today, I am a personality development lecturer at the John Robert Powers Institute and also provide private coaching for high-profile individuals nationwide. I do every job with joy and passion. I don't act like a boss, and I never do anything that doesn't feel right to me."

My grandfather was British and, during the reign of King Rama V, he was seconded by the British government to assist the Thai government in establishing tax and revenue regulations. Upon completing his mission, he was appointed as the first Director-General of Thailand's Revenue Department. Deeply devoted to Thailand, he requested a royal surname, becoming the founder of the "Chillanond" family name that is still used today. He was granted the noble title Phraya Inthramontri Chanthrakuman (Mr. Francis Henry Giles). In the past, the entire Pratunam area belonged to his estate, which was later sold after his passing. Even today, the Indra Hotel bears his name in remembrance.

From as far back as I can remember, I grew up in Chiang Mai, enjoying a happy and fulfilling childhood. My father is of mixed British heritage, served as a district chief officer, and had a disciplined, structured upbringing. I was not allowed to leave the house freely and was always supervised by a nanny. On weekends, I needed to spend time at home, sharing meals with family. Every morning began with breakfast alongside my father, who patiently taught me a little English. I attended an international school with students from all over the world.

From a child who initially could not understand the language, I gradually developed fluency and a natural accent. I have three siblings, including my eldest sister, who has striking Western features, myself, and two younger brothers. Even today, people often ask whether she has had cosmetic surgery or wears contact lenses. Her answer is always the same: "No, this is how I was born, and I am happy with it." After graduating from Chiang Mai University, I sought my father's permission to work as a flight attendant with Thai Airways for 6 years, followed by another 6 years as a secretary with a Korean airline. When Canadian Airlines began operations in Thailand, I applied and became its very first staff member, and I worked there from when the airline had no flights at all until it operated 5 flights per week. For many, the name Canadian Airlines in Thailand became inseparable from me, like the face and driving force of the organization, handling every role with dedication.

If you ask how I first came to know about stem cells : It all began after Canadian Airlines shut down. I suffered a torn retina and had to undergo treatment and recovery for more than ten years. I went through countless medical procedures, including many surgeries, and I lost count. I was left with scars on the side of my eye, and the outer corner of my eye had been stitched repeatedly. That period was the darkest point in my life. I withdrew from society and disappeared from public life for a long time. Stem Cells After the surgeries, one of my eyes developed ptosis caused by myasthenia gravis (MG). With conventional treatment, doctors prescribed medication, but by the afternoon, my eyelid would droop again. I was deeply distressed and embarrassed, and I didn’t know what to do. I truly believed there was no way to recover fully. Eventually, I began studying the concept of cells repairing cells. I wanted to extend my lifespan and grow older more gracefully, without constantly relying on aesthetic clinics, by turning my attention to stem cell therapy. That was my initial thought. MEDEZE STEM CELL I was fortunate to receive knowledge and guidance from Dr. Veerapol Khemarangsan, a physician at MEDEZE Stem Cell. He shared various research studies with me, all indicating that stem cell therapy could help improve my condition, specifically, the drooping eyelid caused by myasthenia gravis. Stem cells are like tens of millions of doctors inside the body, he explained. Wherever there is injury, the cells naturally migrate to repair that area. At first, I wondered how the cells would know that my problem was in my eyes. But the proof was immediate. From the very first morning after the treatment, when I woke up, my eyes were the same size and noticeably clearer. I felt genuinely happy. My body felt stronger, and I became even more energetic than before.

Why does Khun Noi – Napatsawan Chillanond prioritize taking care of her health?

When it comes to overall health care, I’ve tried it all. Back when I was a flight attendant, I used every expensive skincare product available, but none of them truly worked for my skin. It felt like they only coated the surface. I’ve learned that if your inner health is good, even simple, affordable counter-brand cosmetics can work beautifully without being expensive. True self-care starts from within, with the right foods and proper nourishment. Anything beneficial, I’ve been consuming consistently for more than ten years. Back then, I was still quite confident, believing my beauty would last forever. But time passes quickly, and before you know it, beauty becomes only visible from a distance. As for my mental well-being, I used to be quite carefree. I didn’t take things too seriously and focused mainly on enjoying life. What truly impressed me, however, was the decision to store stem cells derived from my own fat tissue. I believe this is one of the best choices I’ve ever made. Stem cells support the body in three essential ways: repair, inhibition, and regeneration. I rarely fall ill. Friends my age look much older, yet I still have the energy to do everything I want. I truly believe that good health comes from choosing the right path. That’s why I think if we have the means, we should invest in prevention before illness occurs because once you end up in the hospital, that’s already the final stage. Health is incredibly important. You may spend millions on luxury handbags, but if you look aged, frail, and hunched over, does it really matter? On the other hand, if you’re healthy, even carrying a bag worth a thousand will still make you look good. Take care of yourself first. When you look good and feel strong, people want to be close to you—and they trust you.

Stem Cell

When talking about stem cells, what exactly are they?

Stem cells are natural cells with the potential to develop into many different types of cells. They are the origin of all living organisms, beginning from a single cell formed by the fusion of male and female reproductive cells. This single cell then divides into multiple cells and continues developing into tissues and organs.

Stem cells are embryonic cells that do not yet have a specific function. They can divide indefinitely and can transform into other specialized cells, such as various types of tissue cells.

Types of Stem Cells

Totipotent cells are cells that can develop into all types of cells. An example is a fertilized egg, also known as a single-cell embryo.

Pluripotent cells are cells that can develop into many different cell types, such as embryonic stem cells.

Where do stem cells come from?

Alexander

The term stem cell Stem Cells was introduced by a Russian scientist in 1908. At the time, it was believed that stem cells could generate blood, which led to their naming. Since then, stem cells have been continuously studied and developed. As the human body matures, stem cells remain scattered throughout the body. Their role is to repair damaged tissues and continuously generate new cells for various organs.
